“My Erasmus – My Experience” Student Photography Competition

1. Organizer

This competition is organized by the Dokuz Eylül University International Academic Relations Office.

2. Theme and Purpose of the Competition

The theme of the competition is “My Erasmus – My Experience.”

The purpose of the competition is to encourage students who have come to Dokuz Eylül University to study within the scope of the Erasmus+ exchange programme and students who have participated in an Erasmus exchange programme abroad to share their cultural, social, and personal experiences through photography and to showcase their international experiences from an artistic perspective.

3. Eligibility and Participation Conditions

• The competition is open only to Erasmus students who have come to Dokuz Eylül University or students of Dokuz Eylül University who have participated in an Erasmus programme.
• Participation is free of charge.
• Each participant may submit a maximum of 5 photographs.
• Photographs must not have previously received an award or been selected for exhibition in any other competition.
• Photographs submitted must reflect Erasmus experiences from the last three years (2023–2026).

4. Technical Requirements

• Photographs must be submitted in digital format.
• When submitting your photographs via the Google Form application, please provide a title for each photograph.
• The longest side of each photograph must be at least 1980 pixels. Photographs must be submitted in JPEG format, RGB colour mode, 300 dpi, with a maximum file size of 4 MB.
• Photographs may be taken with a mobile phone, digital camera, or other mobile device.
• Basic adjustments such as cropping, colour, and lighting adjustments are permitted; however, AI-generated images will not be accepted.
• Photographs must be the original work of the participant. Any participant found to have submitted plagiarized or unauthorized work will be disqualified from the competition.

5. Application Method and Deadline

• Participants shall submit their photographs via international@deu.edu.tr / [online application form link to be inserted].
• Application deadline: 15 October 2026

The following information must be submitted together with the photographs:

• Participant’s full name
• Department/programme
• Country visited or country of origin, as applicable
• Erasmus exchange dates
• A brief description of each photograph

6. Evaluation

The photographs will be evaluated by a Selection Committee established by Dokuz Eylül University.

The evaluation criteria are:

• Suitability to the theme
• Artistic value
• Power of expression
• Technical quality

7. Awards

• 1st Prize: TRY 5,000 Technology Gift Voucher
• 2nd Prize: TRY 3,000 Technology Gift Voucher
• 3rd Prize: TRY 2,000 Technology Gift Voucher
• Honourable Mention Award: [Details to be announced]

All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.

8. Exhibition and Publication Rights

• Selected photographs will be exhibited at the Dokuz Eylül University Main Campus during November 2026.
• Selected photographs may be published on the Dokuz Eylül University website and official social media accounts.
• By submitting their photographs, participants are deemed to have granted Dokuz Eylül University permission to use the submitted works for exhibition, announcement, communication, and promotional purposes
