UNITED KINGDOM TIER 5 VISA: GOVERNMENT AUTHORISED EXCHANGE SCHEME

Students who have been awarded an Erasmus+ traineeship mobility in the United Kingdom, should apply a Tier 5 visa. Before applying Tier 5 visa, each candidate should obtain “Certificate of Sponsorship” (CoS) number from the British Council. The CoS is a unique reference number which holds information about the work placement and the applicants’ personal details. The applicants will need to use this number when applying for a visa. The British Council is accepting CoS applications through Erasmus+ Coordinators. The Erasmus+ Coordinator sends completed documentation to the Tier 5 team via email fort he application to be considered.  Therefore, students who will do an Erasmus+ traineeship, after fully completed and correct documentation, needs to email all documents attached in one single PDF format (not exceeding 10 MB) to the Erasmus+ Coordinator (erasmus@deu.edu.tr). Please note it can take up to four weeks to issue a CoS number. In order for the Tier 5 team to process applications we require the following documentation:

1) Tier5 Certificate Sponsorship (CoS) Application Form: It must be completed electronically.

2) Valid passport: The passport expiry date must be valid for 6 months after the intended departure date from the UK. All pages (front, back cover and including blank pages) must be scanned.

3) Confirmation Letter from Sending University: The letter from the sending university needs to be on letter headed paper with an official stamp, signed and dated. Grant documents are available from the International Relations Office.

4) Acceptance Letter from Host Organisation: The letter from the organisation needs to be on letter headed paper with an official stamp, signed and dated. It must contain student job title, description of duties, start and end dates of the placement.

5) Learning Agreement for Traineeships (LA): It must be completed electronically.

6) Transcript:  Student’s transcript must be in English.

7) Criminal Record: The criminal record must be in English.
